Grand Océan 2023
Description
GRAND OCÉAN at the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, by its very name, demonstrates the ambition of this public event, which will be held for the 2nd time in 2023.
This festive event also provides an in-depth understanding of the extraordinary ocean, which covers more than 70% of the planet's surface and most of which is a human heritage that must be preserved.
Some forty top scientists and historians (CNRS, Ifremer, CNES, ESA, NASA, NOAA, Museum, Sorbonne University, University of Toulouse, marine biology stations and marine parks, foreign laboratories...), sailors (navigators, admirals... ), explorers and ocean enthusiasts (François Sarano, Guillaume Nehry), and witnesses from major companies (Naval Group, EDF...) will be taking part, to share their expertise with the general public, including secondary school students.
